An exciting first for Scotland, may we present Recycle, the app being used as part of a larger pilot project to trial micropayments for the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS). In advance of Scotlands own DRS, coming in July 2022, this pilot will address the issues around plastic waste and provide a solution to low plastic recycling rates across the UK.Download the Recycle app now, and start getting rewarded for recycling your single-use plastic bottles!Its now as simple as using the app to scan the barcode on the bottle, returning the bottle to a smart recycling bin or handing it over to a shopkeeper. Once verified, youll get a refund (20p per verified bottle) directly into your app account. You can spend it as you wish with the HELPFUL virtual debit card. A tree will be planted via Mastercards Priceless Planet Coalition for every bottle recycled. Please download if you are based in the Glasgow area.The pilot is taking place in four convenience stores in the Glasgow area.
